I think we have a rat problem…

Pack rat that is…make that 3 of them. Yes, that is a library book mixed in with the trash, toys, game pieces, homework, etc. that were hiding behind and under the edges of the couch. I am scared to see what is actually under it. Kids…

    • I just don’t underhand why the kids stuff things behind, through, and under the couch. You would think the effort to hide their stuff would be about the same as the effort required to throw it away or put it away.

Then again, I have the same problem sometimes. 😉

  1. They say when you have a hammer everything looks like a nail . . . well, every crack, crevice and corner looks like a trash can, disposal unit, or a place to ‘store stuff’. . . .

I know we kept candy in the couch cushions for OURSELF, LOL! Then along would come mom with the vacuum and – swooosshhh! – it was gone. Ditto the toys under the couch.

But the dog took care of the marbles – each and every one. Should’ve been rattling by the time he was done. Funny thing, that was. . . .

  2. Wait- that’s it? I was prepared to be impressed. I mean, I have 4 kids, too, and I know what kind of epic piles they can make.

Rats? No, I think you just have baby mice. Good thing about baby mice is that they don’t fight back when you pitch the pile. If you wait too much longer, though, it could be a real problem. Then the only fix would be a snake, and I just can’t do snakes.

      • I have heard of people who make their kids donate “x” amount of toys before Christmas…. not sure that would work for us- we’re still handing me down….. 😆 And, with everyone being home all the time, there is a certain amount of stuff we have to have around. I don’t think I’ll miss getting out of the younger stages, though- as they get older, the toys get more expensive, but smaller. I usually make them get rid of stuff because I don’t want to get the blame when they change their minds and decide they really did want that thing after all……………

          • Genius! And hey {looking around with paranoia} – don’t tell them I told you this, but since getting the chickens, I kinda feel guilty about making them do extra (chores) with them….. shhhhhh- don’t tell them! I know this is my problem, and I am committed to working through my issue………… I am working hard to force myself to make them do it, against the voices in my head……

One of these days, once I’ve worked past that guilt, I’m going to give them knapsacks, bottled water and maybe some TP (and bags for the used tp ’cause I don’t need them doing that under the bed, too) and send them mining under their beds. I figure that will keep them busy for a few days, or at least until they run out of food, water, and tp. Oh, but then who will help me with the chickens? I may have to rethink this……maybe I’ll send them two at a time and keep one out to help………….

Wait- what were we talking about again? 😆
